About Us

We, Mike and Rona Fletcher met in South Africa in 1977. Mike was born in Nottingham England and Rona was born in Dundee Scotland. We got married in South Africa in 1979. Mike owned his own IT company and Rona was an accountant.  In 2017 we decided to return to the UK. We set sail from Cape Town on the 23rd April 2018 on the Queen Elizabeth II and arrived in Southampton on the 10th May 2018. We spent the first 8 days with Mike's Aunty Irene in Ringwood. We then spent 3 weeks in a holiday home in Poole. We moved into a mobile home in Eype as this was the only place that would accept our 2 dogs which arrived from South Africa. Our daughter Shelley (qualified chef) and her son Kyle arrived in July. We then bought a mobile home at Little Sea and saw an advert that The Park was on the Market, we originally were looking into running a B&B but decided to give the pub a go, after all the red tape we signed and moved into The Park on the 7th November 2018 and as they say, the rest is history.
